Before you start
Carry only the account details you need and keep them private. Device isolation can prevent casting even when internet browsing works.
A practical way through
- Before travelling, ask about account use, content rights and network restrictions at your destination. Hotel networks may isolate devices and block casting.
- Put the phone and receiver on the same local network. Guest Wi-Fi or client isolation can prevent discovery even when both devices reach the internet.
- Use the manufacturer’s recommended power supply and allow ventilation. Unstable power or overheating can resemble a streaming problem.
- Count how many streams your household needs at the same time. Installed devices and simultaneous connections are not necessarily the same allowance.
- Keep your playlist and account details private. Use official updates, lock your device and remove saved accounts before selling or giving it away.
Check the result
Test one live channel and, where available, one on-demand item. Check picture, sound and navigation. If the result is different from what you expected, note the exact error before changing another setting.
