Before you start

Use the device’s official support and store guidance. If an Android-based tutorial does not match your menus, stop and verify the operating system.

A practical way through

  1. Open your device’s settings and record its exact model, operating system and software version. A familiar brand name alone is not enough to choose an app.
  2. Check the Fire TV model and its operating system. Use its available official store; instructions for Fire OS apps may not apply to devices running Vega.
  3. Use the device’s official app store or the developer’s documented download source. Check the developer name so you do not install a lookalike.
  4. Ask support which input your approved player needs: a playlist URL, account fields or a portal. Enter only the details supplied for your account.
  5. Use the manufacturer’s recommended power supply and allow ventilation. Unstable power or overheating can resemble a streaming problem.

Check the result

Test one live channel and, where available, one on-demand item. Check picture, sound and navigation. If the result is different from what you expected, note the exact error before changing another setting.

Still need a hand?
