Before you start
Check guide navigation, subtitles, audio output and account support. Confirm any separate app licence before choosing it for daily viewing.
A practical way through
- Search the App Store on the actual Apple device. Check whether the listing supports iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, because these are separate compatibility choices.
- Use the device’s official app store or the developer’s documented download source. Check the developer name so you do not install a lookalike.
- Compare remote navigation, EPG, favourites, subtitle controls and account input. A feature list is less useful than a short trial on your exact device.
- Use the display’s supported resolution and refresh-rate settings. If audio and video drift, test another source before changing several output settings together.
- Check whether the player needs a separate licence. Paying for an app does not buy a content subscription, and buying a subscription does not automatically unlock every app.
Check the result
Test one live channel and, where available, one on-demand item. Check picture, sound and navigation. If the result is different from what you expected, note the exact error before changing another setting.
